No. Most AI security work is about the application around the model: data, permissions, tools and monitoring. Knowing how models work helps, and the path covers it.
Is AI security a real job title?
It is becoming one. Many roles are still called application security or product security, with AI systems as the focus.
Why does AI make security more important?
AI lets more software be written faster, gives attackers cheaper ways to scale scams, and adds systems that can be talked into doing the wrong thing. All three need people who understand security.
